The children arrived back to school after half term to find a letter from some nature detectives and some new bug hunting equipment. The children have been asked to find out about the bug life in our school grounds. They quickly got to work learning firstly how to use the new equipment carefully and safely. They have been busy searching for minibeasts and collating the results in the form of a tally chart.
We decided that we would like some of our own caterpillars to help us learn more about them but Miss Peppard was not convinced so the children put their fabulous writing skills to work and wrote independently to her to persuade her to purchase some caterpillars. Their letters were amazing and this week some caterpillars arrived. The children are so excited to watch and observe what happens in the coming weeks.
