Year R Summer 1 Week 1

The children have settled back into school really well after their Easter break. They arrived back at school to find some giant footprints which led them to a magical beanstalk and then to a packet of giant magic beans. After much discussion the children decided that a giant had visited them and entered the school via the beanstalk!

The children really enjoyed their Treehouse theatre visit and used their wonderful imaginations to retell stories.

We dressed and then all decided what characters our costumes reminded us of. We became bumble bees, whales, sharks, superheroes, bears, ladybugs, lions, bears, magical gems, spiders, stars, princesses, soldiers, snakes and mermaids. We then made up our own story about a mermaid family who went on an adventure.

After we had made up our story we sang songs before retelling the story of Jack and the beanstalk.

This half term we are in need of more junk modelling resources particularly toilet roll inners and kitchen roll inners.

Happy Circus Review by Liam R

The Happy Circus was monumental. There was: candy floss, cakes, popcorn and lots of other tasty snacks, We heard the 15 minutes warning and everyone started lining up, it took 5 minutes until I got in. It was such a night. The children had a seat at the very front and the adults near the back. We sat there for a while talking to our friends.

The Show begins

We had an enormous warm up. The adults were a bit lazy at first. There were enormous back flips and jumping. There was also a tightrope walker. After that, Bobbo the clown came on and put Alexa on, they tried to turn it off but it didn’t work. This lasted about 5 minutes. They got adults to play in the band including Mr Vaughan, then they sat down. Mason came on stage to be painted by the Bobbo. Bobbo dressed him from top to bottom and everybody laughed.

Interval

The interval finally came, we all stretched our legs and got some refreshments. I got in the tent, straight after I got food, because I wanted a great view. I waited for 15 minutes then it started once again. It was brilliant and mega! There was someone on aerial silks, in a hoop and a duo who climbed up a pole. It was amazing. Then Bobbo came on, everyone cheered. Bobbo wanted to fish so they got a net. The first time he got a cushion. There were many jokes about fishes. Finally, he got a shark and everyone started singing ‘Baby Shark.’ At the end, everyone bowed.

It was an immense night!
